Leather care conditioner cream, 6oz through gallon, by Skidmore's — natural beeswax restores saddles, jackets, and furniture

Leather Cream

One jar, most leather problems. Beeswax and oils feed the grain instead of coating it, so the leather stays breathable and keeps its own character. A can lasts years — customers write in about nine-year-old tins still working.

Tools for the job

Applicator brushes and pads

These are the tools we use because of their high quality, durability, and ease of application.

Leather remembers how it was treated.

Doing it right

Leather restoration is easy with Skidmore’s.

1

Clean

Get the dirt off first. Warm water and a cloth is usually enough — conditioner over grit just works the grit in.

2

Apply

Fingers or a brush, thin and even. Warm leather takes it better than cold. Let it sit long enough to soak in.

3

Buff

Wipe back the excess with a dry cloth. If it feels tacky, there’s too much on — buff it out and it’ll settle.

What people wrote in

I bought this cream as a last resort for two leather couches I had that were scratched and ugly and a mess!! Used it and I am amazed!! Both look gorgeous! The scratches are mostly gone, leather is soft and supple again!!

Tammy · Two leather couches

I recently finished rebuilding what was probably the stiffest, most dried out saddle I’ve ever done, maybe 100 to 110 years old. … Had to apply 3 liberal coats but the result is amazing…soft, pliable, with a nice soft dark brown color.

I have been using Skidmore’s Leather Cream on my Schott Perfecto jacket and all my boots, belts and gloves since 2012. … The last bit of cream at the bottom of it is as fresh and as potent as it was 9 years ago.

Questions about the leather line

What makes Skidmore's Leather Cream different from other conditioners?

Our formulas use natural oils and beeswax. We do not use any animal oils/fats in any of our products. Our unique blend of ingredients works magic on leather — bringing dry leather back to life.

How often should I apply Leather Cream?

Every 3–6 months for everyday items. Boots and gear out in the weather want lighter coats more often; leather furniture can go a year. If the leather looks dry, it is time.

Can I use Skidmore's Leather Cream on all leather types?

Yes — dang near all leathers. Open grain and light leather darken more. Test a hidden spot on exotic, white, or delicate finishes. Suede and rough-out darken and mat down.

Is the same cream okay for boots and bags?

Yes. Leather Cream works the same way on boots, saddles, jackets, and bags — feed the grain, buff it back, let it do the work.

Will it darken my leather?

On most finished leather, barely. On light or open-grain leather, noticeably. Suede and rough-out darken a lot and mat down. Test a small hidden spot first if you're not sure.

Which size should I order?

6 oz for shoes and boots. Pints for saddles and tack. Half-gallon and gallon for workshops, saddleries, and fleet maintenance. Liquid Beeswax Woodfinish and Sealer cover about 500 sq ft per gallon.
