Meet Vince & Susan
Skidmore’s is a small family business that started in Laramie, Wyoming in the late 1980s. Vince spent his teen years in the family antique shop — stripping, repairing, and refinishing wood — and created a simple, non-toxic wood finish from that work. Our top-selling Skidmore’s Leather Cream is “a gift from the universe.” He mixed the first batch in a coffee can when he needed a better product to treat his boots.
In 2011 they moved the workshop to Port Townsend, Washington. Vince still produces every product by hand in small batches; together they still label, pack, and ship daily. If you call, you’ll get Vince or Susan — not a ticket queue.
