A gift from the universe

Our top-selling Skidmore’s Leather Cream is “a gift from the universe.” He mixed the first batch in a coffee can when he needed a better product to treat his boots.

Skidmore’s is a small family business that started in Laramie, Wyoming in the late 1980s. Vince spent his teen years in the family antique shop — stripping, repairing, and refinishing wood — and created a simple, non-toxic wood finish from that work. In 2011 they moved the workshop to Port Townsend, Washington.

Natural beeswax

Our formulas use natural oils and beeswax. We do not use any animal oils/fats in any of our products. Yes. Our wood care line, in fact, all our products, have less than 10 ppm VOCs. You can use them with confidence indoors and outdoors on all your furniture, cabinetry, and woodwork projects.
